Crawford County A.B.A.T.E.

Crawford County Chapter of ABATE of Illinois monthly meeting was held September 8 at Floyd’s at Oblong.  We had 25 members in attendance.  Next meeting is October 13 at the Eagles in Palestine.  This meeting will be nominations of officers.  As far as I know positions available are president, secretary, treasurer/membership and safety and ed.     We will also decide about having a carry-in dinner for the last meeting of the year in November. 

Wow, there’s really not much going on.  It’s been beautiful weather for riding so hope you are all taking advantage of it.  I think a lot of people are getting more into the off road riding so be careful out there.   Make sure your registrations and insurance cards are up to date.   Keep emergency information close by, on your bike and in your wallet or purse.

The Fall Ride is always a nice one so hopefully we will see lots of participation.  The Oblong Safety Day Bike Show should be a lot of fun so get the bikes shined up.   The Bike Show at the Palestine Wine and Arts Festival will be our fund-raiser for the Toy Run.   We will need a couple of volunteers to work our table at each show.    I’m still looking for a tool kit or wash kit to give away at these shows – come on someone – help me out!   I know you stop at Harley stores when you are out riding, or go to automotive stores at some point.   Even you that live away could send us something unique from your area.
